Watching these images reminds me of way back when we still had a VCR, when you could watch the video as you fast forwarded or rewound it. After that died and we switched to a digital recorder, instead of watching comically speeded-up video, fast forward and rewind are shown as a series of still images. I got used to that (although it is still inferior to VHS fast forward/rewind, but I recognise that achieving that digitally requires more processing power), but these still-frame GIFs are much worse …
