I cannot match the 2nd film you cite.
The closest thing that comes to mind is Claudia Christian in a leather coat and leather pants and boots in the sinking ship wet scenes in the movie "Final Voyage" from 1999 ... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0168785/mediaviewer/rm2636084736

The first item you mention was Natalie Wood in the sinking ship in the 1980 tv miniseries "The Memory of Eva Ryker"

The second item I am not sure what this is because I do not know of any movie with Jesse (Denver Pyle) in a movie that had sharks and a sinking ship. I would need more info....what this a theatrical film or tv series - was it in black and white or color. |

yeah your right, the lovely Shelly was the only one in a nice dress and hose, so great clips, there have been a few more films since, I remember one with Roddy Macdowell in a flooded ship, he was a steward and there was a young lady dressed up they had to hide under a bed in the water also another film but was shown in germany with a girl dressed all in black and black boots they were in a sinking ship avoiding sharks and someone trying to shoot them, if I remember it had jessie from dukes of hazard in it I have them on VHS somewhere stored that was when RTL and SAT1 were on. |

Well, she take her boots off 10 years earlier in a 1962 episode of "The Virginian" when she went for a fully clothed swim, but left her black stockings, skirt and blouse on.
The biggest shame about the Poseidon Adventure was that the only one wearing pantyhose was Shelly Winters, and she was a last minute replacement for Esther Williams who was originally cast in that role. Esther was forced to drop out due to her "You Look Mah-vellous" husband Fernando Lamas who insisted she give up the movies and stay at home instead.

To anonymous - it's about 20 minutes or maybe 25 minutes befode the end of the film, the survivors swim underwater and Nonnie leaves her boots on.

Perhaps (in fictional terms) because, whilst failing to learn to swim, she also failed to learn that boots are normally taken off while doing so?
BTW, had you noticed that in the South American links I am posting the men quite often swim with their wellies on? The ladies much less often, but I have seen a couple. They are hopefully in the long list of ladies whose pics I have yet to sort and post - when I come to them I'll try to remember to mention the wellies in the subject box. (They almost never wear fashion boots in any circs). |

Regarding the characte of Nonnie, played by Carol Lynley - Why, despite claiming she can't swim, does she leave her boots on when swimming underwater? Somebody making the film had a fetish for girls wearing wet boots?
