Flickr have of course inverted the usual meaning of "pro". Normally it is somebody who gets paid for what they do; in their case it is somebody who has to pay. In Flickrland everybody who plays on a golf course is a "pro", except the guy called the "professional", who gets paid for being there! |
In reply to Message (75599.1) Yes, Flickr keep nagging me about becoming a "Pro"
By jollywetfellow - Fri 21/12/18 10:30:40 GMT I'm on 659 pics at the moment, and have never managed more than 200 pics in any one year so far, so am probably in the clear for another year - I am in the lucky position of being able to afford to pay if necessary anyway.
I must say I had wondered how Flickr was funded - no adverts so no ad revenue, and it doesn't seem like they would have very much personal data which would be of interest to Cambridge Analytica and the like. They have not previously sought any voluntary donations either. Does anybody know what their business model is? |
In reply to Message (75599) Sorry to say
By Ytsen - Thu 20/12/18 20:47:06 GMT Sorry to say,
°Starting January 8th, free accounts on Flickr with 1000 or more will no longer be able to upload new photos"
For this reason I have uploaded some more screenshot-folders of my videos.
Find the pictures on Flickr with the following URL
