Not disagreeing, but I'd like to give my input. I never believed that Youtube was the big game changer….theres no doubt that it's a contributing factor, one of many. But I believe that the big game changer was the moment computers and the internet became available to the masses. Like you, I grew up interested in wetlook back since (at least) the early 70s. And yes, like you, there was the sport of the hunt. But I actually didn't enjoy "the hunt". Part of the reason was, I can never find exactly what I liked, having to settle for the few images that I did find. Sometimes I couldn't find anything I liked at all, which meant long dry spells. Those images I did save, I wished I had more of, and eventually it became easy to get burned out on repeated views of the same few images. TV wetlook was always disappointing. The scenes were often short, didn't show enough of the money shots and it just seemed planned. My biggest TV wetlook pet peeve has always been those shows where the TV characters always appear well dressed, (Heels, gowns, expensive jewelry, beautiful hairdos etc.) but somehow have enough perception to dress casually when a situation arrives when they do manage to get wet.

Cutting to a commercial at the best part of the wetlook moment, was a standard fact of wetlook life, with TV wetlook…..And after the 10 minutes of commercials we endured hoping to pick up where we left off, we were usually rewarded with an entirely different scene or the actress was completely dry in the next scene. I can go on and on, but in honesty having the internet and even youtube resolves those disappointing moments. With my own production, there are no commercial breaks, no next scene where the model is dried out. The scenes are longer, more defined and more enjoyable. When I discovered wetlook images on the internet, WAMTEC was one of the first sites I discovered and it finally resolved everything I disliked about TV wetlook. And like many others, it did help to inspire me to take on my own production. Now I know there is far far more wetlook out there thats available and over indulgence can be a major problem, but I for one am happy for the greater variety available to all of us. The hunt for me meant nothing, it was something I had to do to fill my needs, but with so much of my time freed from "the hunt" I can now concentrate on other things. Yes at one time man hunted to survive and it took up all his time for the meager morsels he found, leaving him with little time to do other things. These days 20 minutes in a grocery store will provide me with enough food to live for a week or two. The rest of the time I can use to do many other things including producing more images. My .02 cent

Sincerely

EdR

For me, wetlook is like other collector hobbies....like stamp collecting or coin collecting or fishing....i.e. the fun of the sport is hunting for things that are rare....and there is no fun in collecting commonly available things.

If you are a fishing enthusiast, you would not find any fun in going to a fairground and fishing for fish already caught and in a barrel or small pool......that would be like hunting for rare animals....in a zoo.

Wetlook was a real sport in the 1970's and 80's......i.e. I spent hours of my mispent youth in bookstores and public libraries.....hunting for the occassional rare wetlook photo in old editons of Life or National Geographic magazine. The real "game-changer" happened in 2005....with the birth of Youtube, because that had the effect of totalling devaluing the rarity of wetlook and making what was once rare, to be totally common and mundane. Youtube has managed to turn what was once wine .....into water. The best example of that being the Trash the Dress wet wedding trend on youtube. Wet wedding dresses used to be a very exciting subject matter, but thanks to the boring photographic and editing style used by TTD videographers......this subject has become as interesting as watching grass grow or watching paint dry.

Watching Youtubes is like going to a casino every day where you are spoonfed and guaranteed to win.....which many folks like.....but personally there is no fun for me in going to a casino where I know that every time I throw he dice I will always win.

Imagine if you were the richest man in the world with a huge mansion like Hugh Hefner, where you employed 100+ top models to swim fully clothed in your pool 24hrs a day for your entertainment. That could be a lot of fun to watch....for a few days.  But after a week of watching that I would be looking for a new form of entertainment and totally bored with the girls in my pool. That is why billiionaires like Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Richard Branson  of Virgin Airlines start to work on new projects related to space travel.....cos they already did everthing they wanted to do on earth....so now they are bored and wish to travel to outer space.

MK,    Having produced 3 little videos I can only speak a little about being a producer.  You are a king in the world of undry look and it is understood that in time all rulers tire of their charge. I say from the heart My first ever wetlook experience was seeing Dean Pearcy's wetlook page and I was hooked. Just a short time later I discovered your "cliptapes" and I spent many days running to the post box waiting for those tapes. My point, you are appreciated, yours are big shoes to fill, how many wetlookers have waited for their first cliptape from you, is it a "clipdisc" now??      If you ever need more dresses I have, well, alot.

I am already pretty much cured......and I did not need Clinton to cure me.

Cos the most effective way to cure yourself of wetlook.....is to become a WETLOOK PRODUCER.

Being a wetlook producer is like working in a chocolate factory or a brewery.....i.e. it is fun at first, but eventually what was once "fun" soon becomes "work" and a chore.

There are only x many ways a girl can get wet and only y different styles of clothing, and only z different kinds of models to shoot with, so once you have done 1000+ scenes with hundreds of models.....you become numb to it all....so then you get bored with the subject.

Even William Shatner famously gave a speech at a Star Trek convention where he told the Trekkie fans to "get a life".

I am sure you are like most wetlook producers....i.e. after 3-4 years you have already done every imaginable fantasy that you dreamed of doing,,,,so what do you do next ?

Wetlook no longer fascinates me any more, cos I have been there done that. What fascinates now are future technologies and ways to deliver wetlook in new ways.....e.g. holograpic wetlook, virtual reality wetlook

The only wetlook that is still interesting is wetlook that is made by non-wetlook people....i.e. anything that is real and spontaneous and is not manufactured or staged.

You know MK, I like you, but if you wanted to cure me of this life of wetlook, you've come the closest.

Roscoe, if Hillary had her finger on the button, she'd sell it to the highest bidder

Now....I am gonna be real careful here and avoid making any political comments....but just state the facts and stay on topic.

Hillary Clinton got wet today....and as far as I know she was a wetlook virgin .... until today
