There are more than 15,000 people who successfully registered at the UMD forum....so it works for them. If you are not receiving emails from the UMD system then please check your spam folder to make sure it was not treated by your email provider as junk mail.
I have experienced a similar problem with my email provider (Comcast) that was blocking emails coming from UMD....so what I did was to register at an alternate email address I have via Yahoo, so if your ISP is blocking emails from UMD then use an alternate email box from Yahoo or Gmail to register.
I have contacted UMD admin to report the issue you raised.

Tried to buy 2 videos, redirected me to UMD site, I registered, the site said that it sent me a verification email, its been 20 minutes, no email, so I can't register, and can't buy.
