I suspect this is really based on something instinctual and primal.  I caught a brief part of a TV show once that addressed what men found attractive, on the way out the door to an outing with my buddies.  I would have watched the whole program if I could have.  The gist of it was, men instinctively find attractive what they unconsciously think the ideal type of woman is that could bear and raise their children successfully.  We are wired to select to propagate our offspring.  The TV show mentioned that makeup simulates good circulation, natural color, a good indication of health and heartiness.  That is why it is big business.  It keys into our instincts.  But what those characteristics are is widely varied, and not necessarily based on what is relevant for our current environment..  For a guy with roots that were most concerned about hunger, a little extra girth translates to surviving lean times.  For a guy with roots that were more concerned with survival in a hostile environment, lean and muscular would be the key.  That might explain the cultural differences.

For me, great thighs and a firm little butt tell me she's taking good care of herself.  Hot.  Add some pert c-cup breasts and the heat goes up, but not a necessity.  Not surprisingly, the girls I have dated long term, lived with, and ultimately married (just one) were all around 5' 7". 125 to 130 lbs, a tallish size 6.  For me. that's what triggers the chemistry that gets me to endure the trials and tribulations found in any relationship.
