I will try to address this discussion from my perspective as a producer. I think it is a very thin line between reasonable sharing of other peoples work and exploiting copyrighted material. I had a close look on this forum from the beginning, because I expected some of my work to pop up over there. So far I see most of the shots that have been posted from my sets have been distributed by me previously on my site, on flickr, in this forum and various other places with the intent of getting the community interested. I cannot speak for the work of other producers though! For the shots of my sets, I am fine if those that I published myself get reposted. I am totally not fine if full-sized shots appear that have never been publicly posted by me. Buying those shots does not mean one can republish them at will. They are protected by copyright for a good reason. In my case highres-photos are the USP for my work. So I just would ask everybody posting stuff on the internet to respect copyrights and make use of - in my case hundreds of shots on flickr - of shots available under the Creative Commons license ... just attribute the producer with a link to the website. But again, I only can speak for my work. If a producer does not allow republishing, please respect that too! |

By wetahair passionate - blue.dj@libero.it Sat 09/11/13 20:59:52 GMT Website: http://wethair.forumfree.it/ I hope I never do anything wrong, do not place entire sets but only a few pictures, and especially wethair only in theory for the producers of the sites from which I purchased the photos, this forum might be understood as a way to see the beauty and professionalism of its shots, I'd like some manufacturers also did advertising on my forum, more than wetlook we also wethair which is much less publicized.
thanks for your response, I hope to keep up that I can, of course without harming anyone. wethair passionate. |

By Max - Sat 09/11/13 13:46:10 GMT Sorry for the "closed" thing, but last time I checked I was required to register to only view articles. Seems you changed this policy recently.
However, even if you bought from professional producers, I doubt you purchased a license from them that allows you to re-publish the pictures on the Internet.
I don't want to argue with you. Just think about the consequences. Wish you good luck. |
