....and who knew in 1987 (when that episode was written and aired).....that it would only be 8 more years to go before searching for that topic that would no longer like searching for a needle in haystack, and by 1995 when the internet first opened to the public, then that subject matter would now become as common as searching for a girl in a bikini.
There are many inventions that the Star Trek shows accurately predicted and many others that have never come true (I am still waiting for a transporter beam cos I hate flying on airplanes and waiting at airports.....just beam me up Scotty).
The most depressing thing about the Star Trek TNG series, is that it is set in the 23rd century......and it must be depressing to think that 300 years in the future....and STILL they have not yet discovered a cure for BALDNESS....ha ha
For me, the ultimate invention for a wetlook fan would be to have a "holodeck" in my home where you can go into a virtual wetlook world of your own creation.

In reply to Message (59591) Interesting phrase on Star Trek TNG
By wettuga - wettuga@gmail.com Mon 04/11/13 07:46:27 GMT Just noticed a cool sentence at 15:05 while watching Star Trek S01E03.
Some kind of disease was brought onboard the ship by Geordi that makes people feel extremely hot (as in heat, not sexy), Commander Riker asks Data to scan for people showering in clothes, to which Data replies: "Seeking an instance of someone showering in his or her clothes is..." and Riker completes with "I know, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack."
