As I posted last fall, the gold season passes at Six Flags Magic Mountain (and I presume other Six Flags parks) now include admission to the adjacent waterpark. Yesterday I went to Hurricane Harbor for the first time. I want to go to both parks the same day without having to bother with changing clothes and I don't want to pay to rent one of their very overpriced lockers. The rules at Magic Mountain say that swimwear is prohibited. This might seem like a dilemma, but creative problem solving will get around it. I wore cargo swim trunks and a surfing shirt pass as proper swimwear in Hurricane Harbor and pass as shorts and a regular shirt at Magic Mountain. A large majority of women were wearing bikinis, but there were more than I expected wearing shorts with t-shirts or surfing shirts. Most of the shorts were swim trunks of the shorter variety, but a few were knee length. There were several swim dresses and swim skirts. There were several wearing athletic shorts, even though the rules say it isn't allowed. 4 rule violations that were overlooked really stood out. 1 pair of long jogging tight pants, one pair of jogging capris, one pair of short khaki shorts and the best was one pair of very nice "city shorts", knee length and appeared to be a polyester/cotton blend. The last 2 had buttons and zippers, which the rules specifically prohibit. So apparently the proper swimwear rule isn't super strictly enforced. One part that apparently is strictly enforced: I didn't see any jeans or jean shorts in the water. All in all an ok place for what I consider to be wetlook. Any outfit that is "street legal" ie if it could be worn to almost any place where casual attire is allowed, then it is valid wetlook to me. As far as rides and attractions go, Hurricane Harbor is quite good. They have multiple waterslides (shirts must be removed on the extreme "body slides"), 2 3ft pools, a 6ft wave pool, a "lazy river", and a walk through water play structure. Of course for good wetlook, Magic Mountain is better. I saw several nice wet women on Roaring Rapids and Tidal Wave. A very fun day overall.
