You are correct....in that times have changed now...cos since the 1980's the trend has been to wear pantyhose over the knickers and not under etc.....but I am not a child of the 1980's.....I am from the 60's and 70's......and your fetish interests get burned into your brain when you are a kid or teenager. I am sure if I was born in the 1980's....and I am guessing you  are a youngster who was born after 1980....I would have a totally different set of fetish interests than the ones that were already burned into my head as a young schoolboy in the 60's, For one thing....had I not been born in the mid 50's....and had been born 10 or 20 years earlier....before pantyhose were invented....then for sure I would not be a pantyhose fan at all...and I would have become a fan of stockings and garter belts instead.

This is an interesting topic to debate.....i.e. how people's tastes and fashion styles and preferences change....depending on when you were born and what decade you grew up in. It goes way way deeper than pantyhose preferences.....cos you can easily see difference in tastes from the wet jeans fan too....depending on how old you are and when you grew up....cos the older wet jeans fans will prefer the 70's style jeans over the modern styles of jeans any day.

Pantyhose is merely one subject where one person thinks something is sexy....but another person sees the same thing and it seems silly to them.....and another great subject is the actual size and shape of the knickers.....cos most older wetlook fans like me detest thongs or tanga style panties.....and old fogies like me prefer full size panties instead. Just look at all the wetook scenes done by Artscene (David Wilkey) and WSM Retro (Mike E)....and you will see the old style of panties that I happen to like too. Our models often laugh when we do scenes with older style panties....they refer to them as "Granny Panties"....but hey....Granny Panties look better to me than the "butt floss" the modern girls wear today.

I have been to Copacabana beach in Brazil many times....and those Brazilian girls in their butt floss bikinis do nothing for me...ha ha.

Also....what may seem silly or ridiculous to some folks....but is seen as sexy or fashionable to others.....I can point to numerous examples of modern day fashion trends that seem totally ridiculous to me and my old fuddy duddy head.....i.e....

.....why do many girls today wear short skirts with shorts worn underneath.....that seems redundant and silly to me....and is as silly as wearing 2 pairs of socks.....cos if you have shorts on....you do not need to wear a skirt....so that is as silly as the old men in the UK I used to see....who would wear braces (americans call them suspenders) to hold up their trousers...and they ALSO wear a belt as well. Why do old men need to have a belt AND suspenders to hold up their trousers.....is that what they call an early primitive man version of "a backup system"...ha ha

....and don't get me started on LEGGINGS....ha ha.....cos Leggings are something that should ONLY be worn by women weighing less than 150 pounds.....and they should come with WARNING LABELS....

...    ..".Warning: if you wear this product and weigh over 150 pounds....you have no shame....cos your legs and butt will look like an overstuffed sack of potatoes",  

Go to any theme park ...and you can see thousands of  walking sacks of potatoes all day long...ha ha

Getting back to the original point you made....it's a good point.....cos I am stuck in a time warp and prefer the fashion trends  of the 1960's and 70's.....and you can also find lots of old fashioned 1980's style "Dynasty Dresses" in my videos too....cos I like those 80's style dresses with all that satin and shoulder pads. If you analyze David's Wilkey's Artscene videos....you will see what his influences are too....i.e. David always has 1960's style Nurse Uniforms in all his videos.....cos he grew up loving the old "Carry On" and "Doctor" series films in the 1960s....as I did too.

Actually....I would have preferred to have been born in the late Victorian era....cos I really like the days of the Mack Sennett vintage swimsuits and the flapper era dresses of the 1920's.
