Thought I would answer this since this is our specialty.
Yes, many of the models do have a hard time keeping their heels on while swimming. Pumps and of course mules and similar are most likely to have this problem. Strappy sandals and slingbacks for some reason stay on better than pumps, perhaps because the pumps fill up with water. Though we have had many shoes come off in the ocean and in swimming pools, we have always managed to retrieve them. Scenes where the girls have even more trouble keeping their footwear on are when they are walking though mud, catfighting with their heels on, or best of all, catfighting with their heels on in mud. As you can see in some of our current photos in High Heeled Catfights, the loss of their heels is a common occurrence, and I personally love it when the other girl takes advantage of that situation by stomping the lost shoes into the mud. Regarding boots falling off when swimming, it hasn't happened, but models have told me that they have had a hard time keeping their boots on in some scenes. Especially with the pull on type boots, such as western boots. Sometimes we film scenes where the girls are doing something like wakeboarding in heels. I would think a crash while wakeboarding in boots would generate enough force to cause boots to fall off. Thanks for the question. One of my favorite topics. |

By CHEWITS - jednick@hotmail.com Sun 02/12/12 08:41:22 GMT I'd like thoughts regarding shoes and boots please! Do wetlook producers have to take measures to ensure that the model's shoes or boots stay on when swimming, or is it just hoped that they on? Does it often happen that they fall off? Are any particular types of footwear mush more likely to fall off? I'm guessing high heels without straps, and maybe slingbacks. Also, has it ever been known that a model's boots have fallen off when swimming? With the weight of the water in them making them heavy I think it is a possibility.
