You have some good points there. I still remember Carl Soak, squatting next to a fake palm tree, long hair and beard and all, recording the famous Luxus pool party in Rotweil. Ahh, those were the days! Now Wet Joe from Akuna video is the opposite of Carl. He is so jolly and friendly looking, nobody ever worried about him. I am glad that at least I was there for the glory days of German pool parties, Disco Alcatraz, Rotweil, Freiburg, Natrix, etc. At least my ex-wife was with me most of the time so I didn't scare anybody! |

By X_Wet_X - Sat 28/04/12 18:45:29 GMT Pool parties were extremely popular in Germany around 2000. But this had several consequences: Many pool owner got complaints about the hygenic aspects, if many people are in there with their street clothes ... therefore, they forbade regular clothes. The disco culture was declining, so many of them had to save money and closed their pools. Another very important aspect is the behaviour of wetlook fans themselves. It was about the same time as internet became widely available in Germany and so the wetlook community got organized and informed themselves about pool parties all over the country. As a consequence of this, the ratio of (sometimes very wired) wetlook fans per pool party rose tremendously. Many people who would have enjoyed to go into water, were frightened off by to many wierdos in the pool and pool party as well as other wetlook events got a bad reputation. Furthermore, the awareness that wetlook is fetish for some rose in the general population. This was and still is, mainly due to odd comments on wetlook party pictures and candid videos on youtube. There are still quite some people here, who comment candid videos very wierdly and a couple of days later the video is deleted! Another aspect, which might also have contribute to the decline of the fully clothed pool party culture is the higher aceptance of nudity or almost nudity by young women. |

By Norbert - npx1@gmx.de Sat 28/04/12 18:30:16 GMT Website: http://www.npx-photo.com To answer you question out of my view: about 5 years ago, there have been much more pool partys and more wetlook. But as the insurance made problems with the pool partys, there are only less partys anymore -> less people which are used to have some wetlook fun. But this is only my view of the things.!
