Hi Ralf. I've had the same problem. You either have to use the editing software that came with the camera, or convert the files to a format your computer will understand, using some other program. The best one is called MPEG Streamclip, and you can download it. It converts all kinds of video file formats. It's an extra step that is kind of a hassle, but I think that might be your only option.

I've heard the new Windows Movie Maker does a good job recognizing new file formats, but I mostly use Macs, so I can't say for sure.

I have a new video HD camera. The problem is, how can i cut and work with CDI (panasonic) and convert into AVI???

Some of my comuters dont accept the original software.
