First, I DO place watermarks on all the photos.. Most of them this guy had were cropped off but then there were 2 or 3 complete sets that had the watermark still in place. The only other location would be right in the middle... Doesn't make for a nice or even useable photo that way.

As I responded to someone else, I REALLY don't mind a few scrattered here and there... It's going to happen, it's not a huge issue.. What I DID find were literally HUNDREDS (One set of 118 alone ) of photos and several complete photo sets so yes, needless to say, I was pissed.. Yahoo / Flickr hesitated at first but did respond fairly quick. I then sent the all the info they requested and they have told me it's been taken care of. I'm going to try and check shortly and see what is still there or is gone..

My "rant" was just a statement. :) I added the older sets on so they were available to members who may have missed them, ect. Before that, when they left the site, they left the site. I had so many request, it seemed like a good idea at the time. Seems it wasn't that good of an idea.. As for the new sets uploaded, I'll have to work that out as I go, I suppose starting this week.

I'm 99% sure of who it was now.. Pretty simple to match up the set purchase dates with the dates uploaded to Flickr. I guess I'll whack him and block the IP and work on it from there....

xbertx's reply is right on target. Its most certainly not appropriate for anyone to "steal" your work by republishing it without permission. However, throwing a temper tantrum and shutting off access to your paying customers isn't an intelligent way of dealing with it either. Put a clear watermark in the corner of all your photos, like leon and most others do. That makes them readily identifiable, and flickr and other sites WILL take action (although maybe not within the few minutes you must have given flickr before posting your rant here.)

Well.. Thanks to someone on Flickr, We will no longer be offering the older sets for sale.. Complete sets are being posted and I'll be ending the availability as of tonight.

I guess the next steop will be to either have them as flash or disable the ability to download any photos from the site...

Of course I've filed action with Flickr / Yahoo but that's of little help..

Sorry Folks. Some ruin it for all...
