You can do the boat ride, but, man, you need to just look at the way the winds are blowing. If there is little wind, the mist from the falls will completely soak the platforms you look at the falls from. When I was there, the first day, on the Canadian side, you would get totally soaked from the mist just walking up to the falls overlook wall. The next day, the winds were from the northwest and the mist was on the New York side. Totally cool. And, yeah, you'll need a waterproof camera if you take it close in. Hope it's hot, too, so you can enjoy. I did.

My wife and I are planning a short trip to Niagara Falls. A few questions for those who may know. Will we get wet on the Maid of the Mist boat ride? On the deck walk? We won`t be wearing those stupid ponchos. Any other ideas? Thanx
