If I recall correctly, your pics always had a file size of around 400-500 kb. That's just *way* too much for such a small resolution! Simply use a higher compression setting and larger resolution instead. I don't know which software you're using, but almost every image processing software lets you choose from different quality settings. Sometimes you select a percentage of quality (0-100%), sometimes just absolute values like 0-10.

In any case, there's really no need using more than 80 percent quality!

As an example... I uploaded one of my own pics, resized to 1000x1500 and saved in Photoshop using a quality setting of 9 out of 12 - resulting in a file size of a mere ~370 kb. The second link is exactly the same image, saved using a setting of 12, resulting in a file size of 1.2 MB. I think you will hardly notice any differences, do you?

The third link is the same picture again, this time resized to only 533x800 and using a setting of 12. The file size is larger than the first one, but it's way smaller and really can't be called 'better quality'. You see, this is nothing more than just a waste of space.

To answer a couple of the questions posed here, no there will be no video. Sorry, I know some really would like that, but I dn't have the time or the $ to spend on a camera. Yes, the photos are unfortunately 800x600. That's the largest I could get them and have them fit the online store's parameters for file size. If I can figure out how to compress them further without damaging the picture quality to a great extent, then I'll start making them larger.

Hi, that's good news!

Just one question: how large are the original pics? Are these still like the very small (800 by 600 pixels) pics you previously had on your site - which was too bad because the pics could have been *so* great it they just had been in a decent resolution - or did it get any better?

I'd just *love* buying some of your older sets (I have downloaded when I was a member to your site) in better quality!

Some of you may have seen my announcements on the other forums in the past couple days, but for those who have not, Absolutely Soaked is back in a limited capacity. I am offering a mmix of new and old photosets for sale through an online vendor. Right now, I just have 5 new sets up, but a few with some familiar faces. They're all wet jeans sets & low-res previews can be seen on the site. I have to apologize for the horrible resolution on the preview photos. The online vendor generates the preview themselves, so I just have to go with the flow on that. I'll be adding more sets in the coming days, including some of the old ones and will make announcements in the usualy places when I do. Enjoy!!
