Yes, very much. For several reasons, actually.

For one thing, pre-1960's wetlook carries a stronger sense of two antagonistic values which I associate with wetlook: innocence, and transgression.

Also, I am a history afficionado, and such an opportunity to parallel the general history of the century with the smaller history of a cultural submanifestation (such as fashion, music, or for instance, wetlook) is very enjoyable.
