I've noticed a lot of times when jeans are described as "tight", most of the time they are not - especially after they are wet. They may look tight when dry, but depending on the jean's material makeup, they can go anywhere from tight all the way down to loose fitting when wet. The following are just my definitions. What are yours and which do you prefer? Me? Skin tight of course!
Skin tight is just that! Looks like skin. No folds. All cotton jeans dry or wet will retain their tightness conforming to the shape of the body - especially around the crotch area. On stretch jeans (usually mostly cotton blended with other materials) the tightness tends to loosen up when wet and folds become more prevalent.
Tight jeans: Just one notch below skin tight, these show a few minor folds when dry. These look great dry - especially walking from behind! Again cotton jeans retain their shape and tightness when wet. There's some folding around the crotch area. Blends will have more folds, both around the crotch and the legs. There may be some minor folding present around the butt area.
Fitted jeans: A notch below tight jeans, these have folds both wet and dry. There's more of a wrapping effect when wet especially around the legs. The butt area tends to show more twisting of the material.
Loose jeans: You can actually swim in them when dry! Severe wrapping when wet. Very little body conformation.
