Death Trap worst film ending? I disagree. The only ambiguity I was left with was around who was really conspiring with whom, what "Helga" really knew and when, and to what degree she was the one "pulling the strings" which lead to the final outcome. To some extent, I actually found that to be part of the movie's charm.

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Sat 21/01/06 10:09:35 GMT It's EVP....not ESP....and I do understand the concept. Whether you believe in the concept of EVP or not is not what is relevant....a good story is a story that is told well and can be followed. That film did a great disservice to the EVP community....cos the people who don't believe it in just had confirmation that this is a joke....and for the people who do believe in EVP...it just made a mockery out of the subject by having such a ridiculous ending.
The real irony is....people who believe in ESP and EVP....are people looking for "answers".....and you certainly don't get any answers when watching WHITE NOISE....all you end up with is questions...i.e. what the !@#$ was that supposed to be about.
One of the most amusing reviews (unintentionally amusing) somebody wrote about that film on www.imdb.com....was the person who said...."go see it a 2nd time"....yeah...and you know why...cos the film does not make any sense the first time you see it...so you have to watch it again to see if you can figure it out....but trust me...no matter how many times you see it...the film still has a totally illogical, muddled and confusing script and a totally ridiclous ending.
But to be fair...this is not the worst film ending I have ever seen.....that honor goes to the 1983 Michael Caine/Christopher Reeve film called DEATH TRAP....the film itself is great and the acting is awesome...until you get to the ending....and I have seen that film probably 20 times...and I still cannot figure out what you are actually seeing at the end of that film.

By Minty - Sat 21/01/06 07:30:28 GMT You need to look further into white noise and ESP to understand it better. I have white noise on DVD and i enjoyed it towards end it goes a little bit over board but a lot of it I can relate to |

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Fri 20/01/06 21:18:46 GMT The good news is....coming this summer...a new movie with lots of wetlook, based around a mystery involving a swimming pool...called LADY IN THE WATER....here is a production still from the upcoming film...

The bad news is...it's another so called thriller from the Indian director M. Night Shyamalan...so I dunno whether it will be worth sitting thru, cos this director has a bad track record with me....and I call him "the master of the bleeding obvious and disappointing film endings....i.e. his prior films "The Sixth Sense" and "Signs" and "The Village" have all been a complete waste of my time to watch....I fail to understand why this director is so successful cos his films are always totally obvious and underwhelming....this guy already stole 6 hours of my life, so I will probably wait until his latest film comes to cable tv and just fast forward to the wetlook bits.
Talking about bad directors...has anybody seen the latest Michael Keaton thriller movie WHITE NOISE....cos I watched it for a 2nd time yesterday, cos after the first time I saw it I thought the script was totally incoherent and made no sense and the ending made no sense at all....so I thought I must be a dummy and not paying attention cos I was working in the pc at that time...so I watched it a 2nd time....and I was right...it is still an incoherent load of crap that makes no sense...how the heck do people manage to get financing for films as bad as this....
