A good friend of mine missed her left leg because of a accedent in her childhood. She has a wooden leg now, but she don't want to now our community nows that. So she is always in long jeans, pants or trousers. She almost never go to swim because she had to show her handicap and she did'nt like that. Sometimes, when it is very hot, she take a swim in her pants, bikinitop and shoes, on a spot where almost nobody can't see her.
She don't go to waterparcs because of these rules. Is she a criminal, a terrorist or mad, because she had to wear her jeans and shoes in the water. She is punished for life with her wooden leg. Does Samantha now about people with this kind of problems, or is she just selfish.
Sometimes I go with her for a swim, so she had not to swim alone. Why can't some people accept this.

By Placebo Effect - Fri 09/12/05 10:30:31 GMT "There are a lot of psychological reasons why people do this, including rebelling against the rules, expressing individual style, and feeling beyond reproach in a large and faceless crowd; but no matter the reason, this behavior is socially unacceptable, or at least it should be.......And there is no plausible excuse for it, in my opinion."
I like this one. I knew a girl who wore a long sleeved top when swimming because her arms were covered in nasty wounds from years of self-harming. She, understandably, had issues about showing the world. The author should meet her to discuss plausible excuses.
Seriousness aside. Samantha needs to chill out methinks. :) |
