Chatsworth lakes NOT the fountain and cascade. The lakes are at the top of the hill behind the house. It is fabulous, so verdant and calming. We think it is a very romantic place also!

Another venue to add to the list is Mappleton in Derbyshire. I asked an angler in Dovedale where we could swim and he told me the following. Every New Year's Day they have a fully clothed jump into the river from the bridge. I was told that it was mostly girls that jumped in.

We went down there recently and the water is really clear and lovely for swimming. There were about fifteen people in the water and they wore clothes not swimming costumes. They looked like most were the members of a youth club group who were swimming clothed. We did not look out of place just jumping into the water in our clothes. Clara looked great in her jeans but had to go home all wet, because she had nothing to change into. I have to admit that the weather was hotter than usual last weekend but Mappleton is a very good wetlook location.

Now that Trafalgar Sq. is out of use, especially with the heightened terror alert, what other locations do people recommend?

Here are a few to get the ball rolling:

> Bradgate Park, Leicestershire - The River Lin at the Newtown Linford entrance is sometimes used for people to get wet in on hot summer days. However, very busy - no privacy at all, and lots of kids :(.

> Derwent Water, near Keswick - follow the road South from Keswick along the banks of Derwent - there are several parking spaces, and lots of secluded woodland areas which go down to the lake. Much of the land is owned by tha National Trust, so public Access. Various other places in the Lake District too.

> Chatsworth - no further comment needed really. Most people in the UK will know the chatsworth fountain / cascade.

> Various beaches - go to any seaside location where there are people swimming and chances are that these days there will be someone in clothes. I have noticed this particularly around Sheringham in norfolk. Perhaps people are trying to avoid sunburn, or maybe the wind coming in off the north sea is too cold to swim in normal swimwear? You can get wet without getting too many funny looks - but if you prefer more privacy there are miles of deserted beaches further down the coast, past Happisburgh.

> Lowestoft's new fountains - fountains that are there especially to play in - lots of people going in fully clothed. A wetlookers (is that a word?) dream come true! Havent been there yet, but may do if weather is nice this weekend - its not too far to drive from Peterborough.

Well - theres a few suggestions. Anyone have any others (both places to get wet, or to see wetlook)
