They make almost no difference. The water inside floats in water. Ugs and the like have foam soles so they add buoyancy. Other kinds of boots are leather of plastic so they float. Wellies almost float. Even steel toe cap boots hardly make any difference. Floating fully dressed is the same as being in a swimming costume. only when you try to swim do you notice the drag, and even then it isn't a huge problem as long as you don't try to move fast.

For example, do they become full of water quickly and then heavy, weighing the models down, and possibly dragging them down with the weight of the water inside them? Do the girls comment that they find it impossible, or dangerous, if asked to swim wearing boots?
