...lol...
I think your offer outrageous. You want to make money with the movie, and I do not get any money? Only some hours of your videos on wamgold? Sorry, this will be a bad deal. |

By MK - wamtec@comcast.net Mon 09/07/12 22:16:29 GMT I forgot to say....if you think you found it....don't publish a link for it on here...cos that would be like telling everybody that you just found the Holy Grail or the location of a sunken ship full of treasure.
If you find it....just order it and then trade it with me and claim your prize....cos the prize goes to the first person who sends it to me....so you should keep your sources to yourself.

By MK - wamtec@comcast.net Mon 09/07/12 22:12:39 GMT Yeah...I know how to find the movie posters and lobby cards....but not a recording the entire film.
Also...don't be fooled into ordering something from Ebay Germany...cos they often list something for sale that is not the film....but is merely a copy of Curt Goetz 1930's novel that the 1964 film was based upon. So..it is easy to find the book or pictures...but very hard to find a dvd or vhs tape of the film,. The copy I have of the film was sent to me on VHS tape in the early 90's...but is a poor quality copy with faded colors and soft focus....and since the digital age nobody has managed to find a high res digital copy of the film.
I am amazed that this film has been lost for 40 years and never gets shown on tv....cos it won a prize at the 1964 Cannes film festival....and all Oscar winning films and Cannes Prize winning films are always released on dvd these days.

By MK - wamtec@comcast.net Mon 09/07/12 18:36:25 GMT This is a WAMTEC "most wanted" item. The 1964 U.S./German film "Corpse of Beverly Hills" (released in Germany as "Die Tote von Beverly Hills" and in the UK as "Lu"). The film features a wetlook cocktail party with Heidelinde Weis and other guests wading into the pool in their formal attire. I have a low quality bootleg copy of the film and am seeking a higher quality recording. The film has aired in the USA, Germany and the UK but not since the 1970's. This was last screened at the Berlin film festival a few years ago and sometimes airs on German tv channels. THE REWARD = anybody who captures a high quality tv recording of this film and sends it to me on DVDr disk can get 16 hours of downloads from my Video Vault site at www.wamgold.com
Here is the lobby card I uploaded and some captures I made from my low quality version of the film.

Perhaps somebody can post this message on the German wetlook forum too.
FYI the director of this film appears to have been a wetlook fan, cos he not only shot this wetlook pool party scene in 1964, but later that same director concocted and shot Sophia Loren in the 1968 tv special "With Love, Sophia" where she dances in the pool in her flamenco dress and fishnets...

Sadly, that tv special is even rarer and harder to find....cos I have tracked that one down and the only known videotape copy of that tv special is held at the UCLA Film and Television Archives in Los Angeles, and while you can visit their librray and make appointments to screen things in their library, they have a notation on the master tape saying that it is too fragile and in a state of decay, and it is not to be released for screening until somebody with major hollywood credentials will pay the estimated 100 grand in costs that they want to digitally restore the film from the decayed mastertape (heck...I would offer to restore that tape for nothing)....so it is not likely to ever be restored or released (even though that show had other major guest stars like Peter Sellers and Jonathan Winters too.....so you would think that the Peter Seller restoration society would want to restore this tv show that has never been seen since it aired in 1968).
Later in 1973, that same German director who made the 1964 film and 1968 tv special....displayed his fondness for wetlook yet again cos he created the tv series "Klimbim" in Germany in 1973 that was a 30 episode comedy tv series that featured a lot of wetlook and slapstick with Ingrid Steeger. Thanfully all those 30 shows videotapes were kept and were recently aired again on German tv and have been preserved at mastertape quality, and I was able to download highh quality recordingfs of all those episodes from a tv forum.
Anyway.....if anybody captures a that 1964 film.a decent quality...contact me and then you can clain a nice reward.
