I think the reason many pay sites are losing money and subscribers is the economy. A lot of people, inside and outside the wetlook community, took out adjustable rate mortgages whose payments are going up, and don't forget about the price of gas here in the USA. Back in late 2004 when I made my first visits to this forum I could buy a gallon of gas for around $2, and now that same gallon of gas costs $3, and might even cost $4 in a few months. Incomes haven't kept up with the rising cost of living, and many people have had to eliminate luxuries from their budget. In the case of those here in the wetlook community, their subscriptions to pay wetlook sites had to be canceled so they could take that money to pay their other bills.

I've been offering memberships and other items this week at half price and there have been no sales. None, nada, nothing. In fact, the site never makes money so I'm thinking of shutting it down. Why should I pay for hosting when people just want to freeload? By the way, the domain name will not be for sale. But when current memberships expire I'm not going to continue paying for the site when nobody buys anything.

People bitch about the lack of new material but the reason for that is simple: no money to produce new material. So it's FUCK YOU to the freeloaders.
