Given that these poolparties seem mostly targeted at the 15-20 age group, and that teenage girls in Germany likely follow the same fads as teenage girls here in Scandinavia, I wouldn't be surprised if many of the girls there, especially during the earlier part of the 2000s, would find themselves ogled by many other girls too.... |

By MK - wamtec@comcast.net Fri 19/12/14 17:19:02 GMT These are all valid points. It is fair to say that the wetlook fans and voyeurs and cameramen have all contributed to "killing the golden goose" by showing up in ever increasing numbers.
Why do you think that Leon's UK night club pool parties have always been a great success and have not been invaded by wetlook fans, voyeurs and cameramen....thats because aside from Leon and his crew, everybody else attending was just there to have a fun time and they are not wetlookers themselves, just partygoers. The German pool parties eventually became invaded by wetlook fans who went purely for the wetlook subject matter.
This is why Leon has never published his pool party venues and dates in advance and always kept this info top secret and not published on any wetlook forums, whereas the German wetlook community did the opposite and widely pubished and promoted the German pool parties on the Nasse Klamottem and Wackywet websiites and other German wetlook forums, so this was an invitation to cause an invasion of German wetlook fans at these events. Bear in mind, when these pool parties started in Germany in the mid 1990's, they were not wetlook events organized by wetlook fans for the wetlook fans....they were general public events at clubs lke Alcatraz that were organized for the oblivious non wetlook general publlic, and the wetlook fans merely started to invade these events and take them over.
It is fair to levy some of the blame at the voyeurs and cameramen, but so far nobody has mentioned the largest element that has caused a "freak show" -- and that would be the gay wetlook community...because it is the gay wetlook community that has encouraged their members to invade these events in the largest numbers and you can see why local residents may feel uncomfortable at all these guys showing uo in large numbers....all yiou have to do is look at their website and you can see why local residents feel uncomfortable...
I have not attended the German pool parties myself, but I have viewed all the tapes Hans made in the 1990's and I got the impression from viewing the tapes that in the 1990's these events were mostly 90% attended by the general public who had no interest in wetlook in those days....but the German wetlook websites promoted these events so heavily that eventually their members swamped these events. BTW......it is not fair to say that only women attending these events might have felt uncomfortable with all these voyeurs and cameramen, cos it is just as likely that some gay wetlook voyeurs will be checking out your male butt as well.....ha ha.....cos with the gay male wetlook community in large numbers at these events your butt is equally being checked out as welll....ha ha.
Also not mentioned... it is not just voyeurs and cameramen at these events....cos the much larger majority of male wetlookers at these events are "self wetlookers"...i.e. they are not looking at other people....they merely go because this is a venue where they can experience their own self-wetlook feelings of being in wet clothes. I have met many of the German wetlook community at Songkran in Thailand, and nearly all of the German wetlookers I meet are not voyeurs or cameraman....but self-wetlookers who just like the experience of being in wet clothes all day long.
It is really a matter of numbers....i.e. Thailand has a population of 67 miillion people.....and half of them absolutely hate the Songkran water festival and they move away from the cities during the festival to avoid it, but the other half of the country love the festival and celebrate it, If you go to Chiang Mai duriing Songkran then over half a million foreign tourists attend the water festival.....so if a few dozen self-wetlook fans and voyeurs attend, then you blend in with the millions of other people and are not noticeable. However, if there is a German pool party and a few dozen self-wetlookers and voyeurs shiow up, they quickly become obvious and stick out.
My advice is....go to Thailand for Songkran if you are a self-wetlooker or a voyeur because you can blend in with the millions of other people and have fun and not be noticeable.

By dfx - Fri 19/12/14 15:35:46 GMT I would like to acknowledge this mentioned fact "freak show". What I've heard some wetlook fans decided for really strange clothing to show up at such partys (working clothes, boots etc) which obviously destroyed the atmosphere to get wet spontaneously and because of fun. Beside the fact of semi-professional wetlook photographers annoying other guests which have no idea about our "fetish" there is the fact that at every crazy, unplanned, unusual situation everybody pull out smartphone to take videos and pictures to show them immdiately on facebook or youtube where this scenes are hard to delete. At good partys and in some clubs in Berlin for e.g. smartphones are now forbidden because of this.

By Soak_ed - soak_ed@hotmail.com Fri 19/12/14 09:29:42 GMT Yes, I definitely agree that the sometimes the wetlook fans are in large numbers at the pool parties and sometimes are quite obviously watching the wet girls and creating a rather uncomfortable atmosphere. I always try to be somewhat discrete in my behavior, some of the watchers are embarrassing the way they behave at these parties. Hans, from Akuna was always a jolly old man that was very friendly and non-threatening while making his videos and nobody seemed to mind his presence and he would encourage the girls to get in the water and "show off" for his camera. He never had any problems or freaked anybody out.
I answered your email. |

By WetCasual - wetcasual@yahoo.com Fri 19/12/14 05:40:44 GMT Website: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8131233@N08/ That a lot of the reason this seems to have "dried up" is that people do not necessarily take less pictures, but that they tend to get posted more in social media sites like Facebook where they can be kept more private. And then apparently from older posts at this forum it seems that part of the reason with regard to Borgentreich, at least, is heightened security due to photographers/filmers "freaking people out"... And on the topic of venues "dying out" - No Covers is one that seems to have completely vanished, but I think Mainflingen is still going?
BTW soak_ed, I tried sending you and email, did you get it? |

By Soak_ed - soak_ed@hotmail.com Thu 18/12/14 22:05:19 GMT I came to Germany at the peak of the foam'pool party craze in 1999. Those were the days. Legendary parties such as Rotweil, Freiburg, Alcatraz, Natrix/Catwalk/Xcess and many more. Each year I was there after the first couple of years it seemed there were fewer and fewer parties. I believe Rotweil was the first to stop, Freiburg lasted a little longer, the pool at Alcatraz had problems, etc. Borgentreich is the last of the great parties and I wonder when it will be gone. Maybe not for a while because the village is very small and they get a lot of money from that party so they will have it as long as people keep coming. I believe it is like any other fad, young people have limited attention spans, what was once cool lasts until the next great thing comes along. The pool/foam party thing went away because it was no longer the "in" thing. Remember, wetlook fans are not so large in number and as much as we wish these parties will continue, we can't support them ourselves, and these parties were never meant for our interest. That is my opinion. I am just glad I was there to enjoy it while it was good. |

By Phoenix_Mike - Thu 18/12/14 21:42:49 GMT During the phenomenon (most of it) cell phones did exist, but they were the regular much cheaper type and people weren't so attached to them and didn't take them everywhere. Now everyone takes a smartphone, worth a couple hundred euro and nobody wants to leave them at some check in counter before a party. Even in the fountains in the summer or at private parties you see the throw-in-gone-wrong wet phone problem from time to time. Maybe if more and more brands become truly waterproof pool parties will be able to come back without the possibility of such losses and people will like them again.. |

By plonss - Thu 18/12/14 21:23:42 GMT that's right :) I shouldn't have looked at the pictures
By the way: It seems that generally the phenomenon "pool party", particularly in Germany, where it was so popular, seems to be something of the past. I don't know why really |

By plonss - Thu 18/12/14 19:55:19 GMT I do not want to disturb your enthusiasm WetCAsual, but my conclusion after seeing the pictures is that the event "dried up". In last years nearly no wet look, and the few wet people seems to be men..... |
