She would be perfectly correct to deny you access to her pool when she is not around.

Swimming by yourself with no one else around is an accident waiting to happen; you would be the one to suffer the health/safety consequences of any mishap (perhaps for the rest of your life), but the homeowner would be the one to suffer the legal consequences.

You may say that "nothing could go wrong", "I am a strong swimmer", etc., but you start having fun, get caught up in the moment, better judgement fades away, and next thing, you're in trouble with no-one to come to your aid.

Your neighbour is legally liable for anything that happens on her property. This may be a big stretch, but consider: you have a near drowning and come away with some amount of brain damage, or you slip, fall and injure your spine - putting you in a wheelchair. Your parents sue your neighbour for all the medical costs and related financial damages. Your neighbour will not want to be on the receiving end of a lawsuit and/or financial claim. To eliminate that risk, she would have to deny you unsupervised access to her pool.

Also, if she's a decent human being, she'd want to keep an eye on you while you're using her pool just because she wouldn't want a mishap on her conscience, apart from any legal actions.

If you want a private wetlook experience, (1) you might have to wait a while, and (2) you'd really need to do it under different circumstances.

Moral Dilemma

I have a moral dilemma that I need help with. I'll have my house to myself for about 4 weeks and I intend to get up to some wet and messy fun. Here is my dilemma.

I have a neighbour across the street where I live who has a pool, she's quite old and has said numerous times that my family can use her pool when ever we like. My dilemma is, should I use her pool for a couple of clothed swims or not? It really does seem like the best time to get it done as I have a few outfits I'd love to swim in for a change. I will be the only person in the house, and she is just across the road from me. But at the same time I don't want to abuse her trust but doing some thing she may frown upon and the chance she'll tell my parents when she gets back if she remembers. I am thinking I should go ask her if it would be okay for me to go and do it and see what her reaction would be and to see if she would mind. The other option would be to sneak across when she isn't home, but that is dishonest and I'm not really keen on that plan.

So what do you guys think? Should I just come clean about my intentions for better or worse or just put it off for another time?
