I agree with your list, Ace, although I confess I'm not familiar with Kirsta Breunig. Here are a few I would add:
- The late, great Rob Blaine of Messy Fun, the first wetlook site I found on the Web, roughly 10 years ago. Another godfather of modern wetlook. - Graham and Kev of Styx Wetworld—another huge body of quality wetlook - And of more recent vintage—Bill and Chrissie of chrissiewet.com and Jennifer and Todd of JeTWetFun. Granted, Bill and Chrissie have been enjoying wetlook for 30+ years, but they've only "gone public" in the last few years. These four folks are amateurs in the the truest sense of the word: they're into wetlook for the love of it (and what better reason is there to do it?) and it shows in their images. |

By Ace - acepup44@gmail.com Wed 18/02/09 10:35:49 GMT My ballot would probably have MK and Wetfan at or near the top, but like Poliut I'm only 20 so a lot of the foundation of wetlook was laid down before my time. Still, at least in my eyes, MK and Wetfan are two of the godfathers of modern wetlook, and our community simply wouldn't be what it is today without their efforts. Producers like Leonmoomin, Erik Elsas, and EuroWAM TEAM have also given us mountains of great wetlook over the last decade or so, and they'd have a place on my list. I'd round mine out with a few honorable mentions: Anthony, since his Joys of Wet Clothing.net was the first wetlook site I ever saw, and of course Nigel for running this forum for so long and bringing so many of us together. I would also include two posthumous inductions: Kirsta Breunig and Steve Katz aka WetInRed. Just my two cents. If I've snubbed someone important, let me apologize in advance.
P.S. Poliut, would you agree that we have some big shoes to fill? |
In reply to Message (39092) Wetlook Icons
By Poliut - Wed 18/02/09 02:26:25 GMT Who would you consider to be an "icon" in the wetlook world? One of those people who made it what it is today -- think if there was a "Wetlook HOF" these would be some of the unanimous, first-ballot people to be enshrined there.
Now, I don't know what stage wetlook is in (ie. infancy, peak, about finished, etc.) - some of you old-timers here would have a better guess to that than I would - and as such it may be a little tougher (or easier) to identify such candidates.
Weird question (and probably a weird way of asking), but it could provide material for something useful.
