Pope John Paul II was one of those rare people whose admiration transcended political and religious boundaries. Along with millions of people, I will admire this great man for his dignity and the compassion he bestowed on people whose voices are seldom otherwise heard - the poor and politically marginalized. As a person of the Jewish faith with a liberal social leaning, I did not agree with all his views - but therein lies his greatness, that even despite my disagreements I have - and always will - admire this great man. Thank you, Pope John Paul II, for giving us hope and showing through your example how we can make the world a better and compassionate place.

Let's all pray for the soul and celebrate the live of the pntiff Pope John Paul II

He passed away at 2:27pm EST.

He is in better hands now...He is with God.
