I saw the movie back in the 1980s. It's a real stinkeroo as far as the plot, or lack thereof, is concerned. Keeping track of the characters is an exercise in futility, making it nearly impossible to determine who the other actresses are. But it does have LOTS of great wetlook, which makes it worth seeing for that purpose.

By Waterspaniel - Sun 17/10/04 03:42:24 GMT Website: http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/ShowMainServlet/showid-12956/Tremors/ Well, according to TV Tome's description (link above), Tremors is about giant worms. Now I suppose there could be a semantics debate about whether worms qualify as bugs, but in my neck of the woods, they don't. And if I remember the Alien movies correctly, the creature was more serpent-like than bug-like, unless I missed something.

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Sun 17/10/04 01:34:44 GMT It may be worthing checking to see this....just to see if Showtime have managed to re-master this film in any better way.....because I have probably taped this film 20 to 30 different times over the years...from many different sources....and I have never YET...seen a decent color print of this film. The tv versions that have been airing for years are always a terrible "washed out" print of the film with very faded colors and bad focus or contrast. I have yet to ever see a decent film print of this movie...so if showtime have had the original film re-mastered...then it would be worthwhile to re-tape this in higher quality.
Gee...I am not sure the "no wetlook in bug" movies holds much water....cos what about that excellent wetlook scene in the tv series TREMORS, and you have wetlook in ALIEN 4 and I could probably list many more if I thought about it.
I have a feeing that my "no wetlook in space" theory is a more solid theory....cos I bet folks can list more bug films with wetlook than they can list space films with wetlook.
I think some of my other theories about Indian wetlook are more amusing....i.e. wetlook never happens after a marriage scene....wetlook only occurs before marriage....and...wetlook only happens INSIDE India...whenever they go to locations outside of India...wetlook is not allowed....haha

By Waterspaniel - Sun 17/10/04 01:03:00 GMT This 1977 movie is old news to many, perhaps most, wetlook fans. But for anyone who perhaps doesn't know about it or hasn't seen it, it's scheduled to air next Friday (10/22) at 12 noon (Chicago time), on Showtime. It's the one exception to my rule about no wetlook in bug movies. It has Joan Collins and a number of other actresses in repeated wet scenes. One of the classics, for sure. |
