There was a time way back when when we'd have some interesting academic discussions here as well, which I kinda miss.

As for why posts like this get engagement... well there's something to say. A number of things here don't exactly elicit a reaction out of me.

On the topic of AI... I've had my passing fad moment with it.

Post like this and AI posts get a lot of engagement, but posts with real photos and videos get almost no engagement (for example, there is a pretty cool video in the post right above this one, but no one seems to care). Perhaps that's why there is less incentive for people to post real stuff?
