Don't forget that life expentency for a CD is about 2 or 3 years (depending on the quality of disk, writer and the speed).
The solution I use to save all my important photo (my wedding, ...) : I got a very old PC where I put a large disk, under BSD. I backup to this machine all my photo.
In case my main computer or this machine has a disk problem, the other one keep alive so I'm able to install a new disk from the survivor. It's how I expect to show my wedding (which finished wet) to my grand-childs ... in 70 years :-) |

By Quagmire - Fri 24/08/07 05:04:25 GMT My sympathies, for what little that's worth. But when you get your computer up and running, start transferring your favorite wetlook bits onto CD. Stash everything in a separate folder, and every time you've got another 650-700 MB, make a CD. That way you can't lose your stuff no matter what your computer does. As the cliche goes, back up your data. |
