As I recall, the game show Press Your Luck had gone off the air by early 1986, when the space shuttle Challenger exploded. |

By Desert Hawk - Wed 22/08/07 20:43:47 GMT That could be it. I personally don;t see how a dunk tank would cause flashbacks of the bridge tragedy, but some people can be incredibly sensitive. Canceling the dunk tank because of this is as stupid as when Clear Channel's classic rock radio stations wouldn't play certain songs for a time after 9-11, such as Burning Down The House or Benny And The Jets. Or when MTV got rid of their astronauts planting an MTV flag on the moon logo and my favorite gameshow Press Your Luck got rid of the exploding rocket Whammy animation, both right after the Challenger disaster. |

By wetinwisc - cheesehead1965@hotmail.com Wed 22/08/07 13:08:12 GMT I wonder if this is because of the I-35W bridge collapse that happened earlier this month in Minneapolis. I'm sure there are pics of people in wet clothes from that tradgedy, but I feel that it would be in poor taste to post those pics here. There was also severe flooding last weekend in SE Minnesota, along with SW Wisconsin. Maybe I'll take a trip out there this weekend and play around in the high water. |

By joey - Wed 22/08/07 07:00:50 GMT I read that Wcco tv 4 in Minn is not going to do the dunk tank this year. Anybody out there know why? I was hoping to see Sue Turner take a dunk. Please post if you all know anything. joey
