Several ways to do this...
1) install an internal capture card that has Audio Video inputs...such as the ATI All in Wonder Card
2) use an external capture device that has audio video, s video and firewire inputs and outputs...like the "Hollywood Bridge" box made by www.dazzle.com
3) use a digital camcorder...if you have one of the newer model camcorders...many newer models now have a feature called "ntsc pass thru"...where you can connect an analog vcr to the camcorder via AV cables...and then you connect your camcorder to the pc via iLink (firewire i394 cable)...and the incoming analog signal from the vcr...goes thru the camcorder and gets converted by the camcorder to digital video..which then outputs that to your pc and captures it to your pc in dv.
any of these methods will work....
