Note the first pic...with the 2 cameramen for ABC and ESPN standing BEHIND her...all they got was shots of her back. The Korean tv news channels had cameraman in FRONT of her...as these pics depict...so the viewing angle from Korean news channel was much better...i.e. the footage I found on Korean tv is the same angle as these pics...the front view...not the back view as those cameramen behind her were getting.

Gee...isn't the internet a wonderful thing...where you can instantly find pics of what you are looking for.....sure beats the "old days" when I was a kid...and the only way to hunt for pics was to spend hours at the public library all the time...heck I knew all those numerical library reference numbers off by heart...i.e. all the reference numbers on the various subject matters like life saving, photography, movies, that were good sources for wet pics. These days finding stuff is just way too easy....just a few mouse clicks away...ha ha.

FYI....while ABC did not air the actual dunkings...ESPN Sports Center showed a brief clip of it...but taken from a lousy camera angle (a back view behing her back) and then they cut away as soon as she hits the water.

However...I found a very nice piece of video footage from the Korean tv stations today...shot from the front view angle (on the opposite side to where the ABC and ESPN cameras were) and the Korean tv footage shows her jumping in from front views and lingers for much longer with her laughing in the lake and climbing out of the water. So...from the various sports channels I have been taping so far..the Korean tv channels captured this scene much better than either ABC or ESPN did....so at least I was able to find a decent version of this dunking now.

I acutally have a relative who has pay-tv, and I asked him to record that tournament. It might be on the tape I have. When I receive it I will have a look at it.

What a bummer.....the only time in 20 years of taping the lake dunking scenes at the Nabisco LPGA (formerly called the Dinah Shore classic...it was Dinah who started the dunking tradition)...the only time in all these years that the winner was wearing a nice skirt & matching top (instead of truck driver's shorts as they normally wear)....and ABC television blew it. They failed to air the dunking scenes.

In my area, we have 2 different ABC affiliates..and both of them cut off the dunking scenes, cos they were running over-time..and went to local news instead...so you saw nothing on tv my area except for Ms Park winning shot..and then they cut away.

I did some checking to see if she actually jumped in or not (cos the Korean women golfers have long been criticized for being stony faced and being anti-social and lacking a sense of humour....so I figured that maybe she refused to jump in....which is why ABC did not show it)....but I just found this pic off Reuters...and apparently she DID jump in the lake in her green dress....so all we seem to have on this is this still photo...ABC did not air it.

If anybody catches replay footage of the actual dunking on ESPN or a Sports Channel in their country....let me know..

Wait a minute...forget ABC...I get 4 Korean channels on my satellite system...I bet one of them shows it, cos she is a native of Korea....I guess I have better tape those channels for the next 24hrs.
