I've been using DirectNIC since they started up and have around 300 domains managed by them now. I also use SplinterNIC (as Ray knows) for the "play" domains - but for some reason they send reminders to me. I think I know why.

Try this ... set the auto-renew feature on, but don't input credit card info. That causes their auto-processing to send a message to you to say it cannot renew. And then you revert to PayPal. That's how mine is set up and maybe why I get the reminders?

Thanks for the offer of help, a refreshing change from some of the posts of recent. I should have moved the domain to under my control months ago, but the cobbler's kids are barefoot. We use splinterNIC.com for some of our play domains and is only $8.95 a year compared to directNIC.com at $15 plus another $5 for DNS. My memory may be failing, but I think I turned graham onto directNIC.com ... :-)

Once you are up and running again, you might want to move the domain registration to somewhere more reliable - the web site can still be hosted wherever, but you can move the domain name to www.directnic.com . Graham recommended them to me some years back, and I've not had any problems - they send you reminders 3,2, and 1 month before any domain expires, and if you move the actual site space somewhere else, you can easily change the settings at the DirectNIC control page.

Just a note to those that access WFS and those in-line pictures I have posted recently. The previous hosting company was suppose to at least notify me before our domain expired, but alas it was not to be... therefore I have re-registered wetfreespirit.com and that should be functioning in a day of so ...till I get the other mess squared away..
