Thats almost an impossibility to get to see that Sophia Loren flamenco dress in the pool scene, let alone save, that scene you refer to. That Sophia Loren tv special you are referring to (With Love, Sophia 1968)...I did some research on that...and there is only one known existing copy of the original videotape...and it is held under lock and key by the UCLA Film and Television archives. They normally allow people with press credentials to screen things in their screening room....but in this case...they list that tv special as being in very poor and degraded condition (faded colors) and they will not let anybody touch it...it requires a full restoration to be done on it. So...it is never likely to be seen unless somebody spends 100 grand or more to restore it.

The only small ray of hope is...in that same tv special is Peter Sellers...and they recently spent a lot of money to restore the 1967 BBC teleplay of Alice in Wonderland and release that on DVD...mainly cos it had big stars like Peter Sellers in it. So....one day we might see that Sophia Loren 1968 special...cos people are always looking for long lost Peter Sellers stuff. ...but only when somebody spends a lot of money to restore the video tape now archived at UCLA.

The interesting bit of trivia that I discovered while searching for that tv special...is that it was directed by the very same director who made the most famous wetlook wading into the pool in evening dress scene from the 1964 film, THE CORPSE OF BEVERLY (released in Germany as "Tote von Beverly Hills"). This film has an awesome scene where actress Heidelinde Weiss wades into the pool in her evening dress...it took me 15 years to track down a copy of this very rare film...it has not aired on tv for 30 years. When you study the gratuitous way this director made this pool wading scene...and then compare that you how he directed Sophia Loren to wade into the pool in her Flamenco dress 4 years later on her tv special....one can only conclude that this director must have been a secret aquaphile and water fetish fan. And...what is even more bizarre is....that same director committed suicide in 1991.....guess where....while fully clothed in his bath tub....yikes....

That probably more trivia than you guys wanted to know...

JJ might like these. This is the classic Sophia Loren Boy on a Dolphin scene. We normally only see low res vidcaps or small pics. Here are some nice sharp still photos...
