...it depends what it is about "wetlook" you like most. I think there is a marked difference in Modelled Wetlook and Candid Wetlook. For me, the thrill of wetlook is more leaning towards the candid pics rather than staged modelled wetlook that tends to be more erotic.
The whole "buzz" of it for me is the fact that the girl has decided to get wet, probably not planning to when leaving her house that day, but has anyway. It adds to the "naughty" factor for me. Which is why candid formal wetlook beats anything in my eyes. Seeing a bride/bridesmaids/guests jumping into a pool at a wedding is utopia for me because it doesn't get any more "naughtier" than that...i.e. wet in expensive formal clothing. It's also why i love the candid pool party and Leon's wet fountain/pool party tapes. The girls have just gone for it, unrehearsed. The actual look of the clothing when wet is secondary to me. Not to say i am not impartial to modelled wetlook, just horses for courses |

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Thu 04/03/04 05:14:03 GMT This is not a criticism, merely an analysis....but I am sure those of you with a discerning eye can see that there is a huge difference between "insider wetlook" (i.e. wetlook produced by wetlook afficionados) and "mainstream wetlook" (i.e. wetlook that occurs in the mainstream world, by chance, or is merely a peripheral device to entertain the masses)....i.e wetlook producers are very careful to select clothing that reacts well with water...i.e. changes to color, going see thru, clinging nicely, changes shape, etc. This is often evidenced by folks like Erik Elsas...also note Graham's recent attention to color changing aspects in his last post. The clothing that is worn...and how the fabric reacts....along with LIGHTING...are the key ingredients that make a knock your socks off wetlook scene.
The mainstream world (i.e. fashion magazines, Japanese idol sites etc) often use very artsy effects such as soft focus or diffused lighting....which is high art...but not very satisfying from a wetlook perspective. You can tell by the Naschticht photos each week that the clothings being worn are not good choices for wetlook, and the lighting is not good either...but those performances are not done for our benefit...but to entertain the mainstream night club goers...who basically could not care less about wetlook...and just want to see the girls strip out of their clothes as fast as possible.
And thats the way life goes....I guess I should go get a lobotomy or something, cos the way the mainstream world does wet events just does nothing for me at all...
...but I would sure like to be the owner of one of those clubs...ha ha...they must be making a small fortune.
