Couldn't you just cut the bottom off the cup, then cut the cylinder you are left with so you can just roll it out flat, then scan it? It's a shame I don't go to MacDonald's very much.

Ha ha. That brings back memories.

Several decades ago I was working for a large mainframe computer manufacturer and while passing the "Xerox" room, found a co-worker struggling with one of those large 14" disk packs (288Mb)turned sideways over the glass of the copier. He was trying to time the rotation of the disk pack with the speed of the scanning head to make a copy of the label on the curved side of the disk pack. It struck my sense of humour and I made some crack about his method of making backup copies of disks.

Now there's a challenge for one of you techno-whizz boffins....i.e how can you scan and post something on a cylindrical surface. The first person who figures out how to do this and post the pic to the forum should be given a medal.

(ps..I guess you could scan it in 4-5 segments, which would then give you a distorted perspective...and if you have adobe photoshop you might be able to re-adjust the trapezoid appearance to straighten out the segments and then paste them together).

HAHA! Yes I saw that cup too! I was having lunch with a coworker and saw that cute wet asian girl on his cup and my eyes almost popped out of my head! Now that's what I call Mcwetlook!
