Some "corrupted" files are viruses I have downloaded a few that seemed "corrupted" and ended up turning a virus loose on the system. I have heard of Trojans being turned loose like that, too (Good time for a Firewall, no matter how you get online). Those have snuck through both McAfee and Norton. Just be VERY cautious of files like that. After my experience, I have been gun-shy of files like that and immediately scanned the system & shut off the firewall & opened each port or activity one at a time to study any possible new activity wanting to access the Internet. It is also quite possible (as mentioned in other posts to this thread) to corrupt .zip files, too. I zip quite a few, and usually shut most other programs down, as two computers with different processors have hiccupped while zipping with too much running. Usually, though, I have no problems. Sometimes they get scrambled during FTP, or by the server. |

By Joel - jsilve12@optonline.net Wed 06/11/02 01:13:45 GMT Does anyone know of a program that will extract multi-part zip files? I have a zip file with six part. The first on is *.zip and the rest are *.zip.001 thru 006.
Thanks for ur help
