Hmm... stopping wetlook. Or my participating in it. Honestly, I don't think it's something that can neccisarily be "left." For me, anyway, it is innate. It's be like trying to make a heterosexual turn gay. I was born with this. Of course, I could stop performing wetlook, and stop looking at it. I've had many times in life where I couldn't get wet, and pics didn't exist... but I still thought of it all the time. To this day, when having perfectly normal sex, I am still thinking of fetish-stuff, be it wetlook, mud, clothes....
I do remember back when I was 19 or so I tried for about six months to not think about it at all (in hopes of feeling less alien and less depressed because of this). I'd block every thought as soon as they popped up, try like hell to find porno arousing.... I found that after six months I felt like I was lying to myself, like I lost who I was. I felt even more miserable for hating who I was. And when I decided to stop fooling myself I was back into wetlook and other fetishes in about a day (like when I broke my right arm and couldn't write for six weeks and feared I'd forget how to write... and was able to within three minutes of getting that cast off.)
Honestly, with this community being as friendly as it is, and the reprocussions of the fetish being so realistically and utterly minimal (maybe wrecked clothing costs)... I don't see too many negatives. Sure, it sucks because finding a partner can be rough. But the folks who like to shit in each other's mouths must really have it tough when it comes to picking up chicks at the pub. How do you break that fetish to your friends? Getting wet? C'mon. That's easy. :)
Any other thoughts? I love these discussions. |

By Tobewetornottobethatisthequestion - Wed 14/01/04 13:08:55 GMT Very interesting article, but the overall question that it leaves me with is whether one should stop wetlook?, since it seems to carry many negatives. How many of us could simply turn our backs to the wetlook community to never view it again?, if someone can give me a good reason to stop wetlook, which I thoroughly have enjoyed since early childhood, then I will. This is serious so please give good comments. |

I'm not sure if I agree with everything this chap says, but it's interesting nonetheless. I certainly don't agree that depression or attention defecit disorder fuels my liking for wetlook. But hey, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Keeps the debate going if nothing else! |
