Yes, you are right about the shoes. I suspect the clothing may have been supplied to the contestants, so to have shoes would require fittings to fit?
The other thing I remember was the over-zealous editing at the end of the round, which was followed immediately by the adverts.
To compensate, however, there was an underwater viewing window which was sometimes used. Pity they didn't keep the cameras rolling as the contestants climbed out of the pool. |

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Tue 30/12/03 02:33:25 GMT Yeah...I agree...I have every single one of those shows on tape....very nice.
The only thing that they wimped out on....was the shoes...everybody took their shoes off.
The Italian version was much better than the UK version, cos all the ladies wore hosiery...whereas in the uk they did not. I have 20 of those shows.
The best version of that show was the one they did in Spain...cos in their version the ladies wore both shoes and hosiery in the pool....sadly...I only have 2 scenes from that show...nobody in Spain we know was taping those.

By LWB - Mon 29/12/03 19:24:07 GMT Whilst "The Golden Shot" may have been the best known of Bob Monkhouse's shows, as far as this forum is concerned, his most memorable is of course "Bob's Your Uncle" from 1991-92.
This involved three newly-married couples competing. The second round was called "The Sea of Matrimony", though it was actually set in a leisure centre swimming pool. The couples were in boats, each boat had holes in the sides to let water in. Questions were put to the couples in turn, and if they got an answer wrong, a member of their family had also to get into the boat, which made it heavier and therefore more prone to sink. The first team to sink or capsize their boat was out, the two remaining couples went through to the next round.
To make things interesting, the couples were dressed in their wedding attire, and the members of the family were all fully dressed in expensive clothes. I recall some nice shots as sisters of the bride or groom descended into the water and had (presumably) had their outfits ruined. |

By Graham The Geek - Sun 28/12/03 23:48:47 GMT MSN UK is reporting the death of British Comedian Bob Monkhouse.
Why is this relevant to this forum? Because Bob Monkhouse hosted "Bob's Your Uncle" the show that brought wetlook (in particular wet wedding attire) to mainstream Saturday night UK TV and resulted in some excellent wetlook clips (I think that WAMTEC has some and JW posted some a few months back).
