I noticed that the views are massively up on that album now :-) I wander how many weird emails the college have had asking for "more pictures of the pool please" & "please can they wear XYZ this year" |

By Malvineous - mrnemesis@ntlworld.com Sat 23/02/19 21:55:34 GMT Which colleges are these?
How do they address concerns of modesty — what if the students are not wearing something suitable for getting wet? I presume they have replacement clothes on hand — or maybe they supply the clothes to be swum in? |

By LWB - Sat 23/02/19 19:49:17 GMT There have been a number of different situations I have come across where US college/university students seem to end up fully clothed in the swimming pool:
(1) Some colleges have an archaic requirement that to pass their degree, all students must prove they can swim proficiently by undergoing a compulsory swimming test. This is carried out fully clothed, often with little or no warning.
(2) Some college swimming teams are photographed partially or fully clothed in the pool, like this:
(3) Engineering students design and construct cardboard boats and then test them in the pool wearing the clothes they are wearing to class.
(4) College initiation ceremonies banned by the university authorities can end with new students being humiliated thrown fully clothed into fountains or swimming pools. |

By Malvineous - mrnemesis@ntlworld.com Thu 21/02/19 22:41:54 GMT Pictures and a teensy bit of (rather meh) video footage of a psychology exercise conducted in a swimming pool fully clothed at Knox College:

If only there were a lot more photos than the ones they posted to Flickr!
