I don't think it is is out on video, but this is not a rare film. It is constantly being aired on American Movie Classics channel in the USA and on the BBC in the UK. I have that filme and those scenes on at least 6 different tapes...so it is easy to find on tv channels like TCM, AMC or BBC.

ps...if you like that one...then also lookout for the next tv airing of the classic 1933 Busby Berkeley film "Gold Diggers of 1933" and the famous "Petting in the Park" musical number...that is similar too...some nice wet stockings in see thru clinging wet dresses in that musical number too. |

In reply to Message (7249) Vintage Wetlook scene from 1935.
By JJ - vintagewet@grayhost.net Fri 05/12/03 13:27:44 GMT Website: http://vintagewet.grayhost.net/ Just finished watching an entertaining 1935 Maurice Chevalier film called 'Folies-Bergère de Paris' which has a phenominal wet dance number near the beginning. It starts out with a street scene with Maurice singing & dancing in a downpour, much like the Gene Kelly number (must have been it's inspiration). But then the scene bursts into one of those huge revolving stage sets with about 50 female dancers dressed in sequined dance-tops with garters & silk stockings (before nylon) and heels. The whole sound stage is in a deluge and they are splashing their dance number in about 6 inches of water!
It was on "CoolTV", one of the new satalite channels. I'll certainly tape it, if it's on again. Here's a bit of a write-up on it: http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0026373/
