So I'm on the wrong side of thirty a bit, but as I look young that might not be a problem. But as I'm also fat, ugly and shy I guess I don't have what it takes to film in public. Anyway, thanks for the input MK. It was a very interesting read. And Leon sure is a legend in that department. Flaviu's idea to get random girls to do shoots in bathrooms was also something that blew my mind, but I guess that type of proposition means you need a lot more money as most girls would be even more scared to go. |

By MK - wamtec@comcast.net Sun 21/01/18 17:51:15 GMT Yes.....that is the same formula that has worked so well for Leon and his Streetsplash series. All you need is
- a young and attractive and gregarious and charismatic male to chat with people in the street, and - a young and attractive female cohost to accompany and to coach people into wetlook dares or stunts etc
This concept is nothing new. It was ifirst seen on Fred Travelena tv show "Anything For Money: back in 1982.....there was a carwash stunt and several hot tub stunts on that old show that were much better.

The only difference between the 1980's show and other copycat shows of the 1980s (Who Dares Wins in Australia and Beadles About in the UK) and 1990;s shows like :Wud Ya Cud Ya" is that back in those days you needed to have a network tv show and be a celebrity to host that show, and these days you don't need to have a tv show, you can just interview people in public with your own camera and then open a Youtube channel.
So, if you are young and charismatic you can easily orchestrate wetlook stunts in public.....but if you are over 30 and old fart like me you are much more likely to be viewed as a pervert and a stalker, and everybody has a cellphone in their pocket and they will call the cops on you and I guarantee the first question they will ask you is "do you have a film permit" to be doing what you are doing....."where is your permit".....and then it will be "move along or I will book you for disturbing the peace" (which is what happened when David Wilkey tried to film his own girls in the Trafalgar Square fountains).
This is why nobody else is able to emulate what Leon can do..... this is not easy to do....unless your name is Leon. Anybody who thinks this is easy to do has not actually tried filming in public places. You need to have the 3 C's..
charm, charisma and above all,cohones

The above video is from AwesomnessTV - Human Car Wash. It's not really worth anything from a wetlook perspective, though some girls did get wet fully clothed but the camera work doesn't care about wetlook. Plus there were extra points for stripping down, but that's not the point. In their show the co-hosts walk around and offer people money to do something mildly weird. And we can learn that even $5 not to mention $10 bucks is enough for attractive girls to get wet in their clothes at a random moment during a hot day. I'm shocked. I really thought they would want like $50. Staging such a show (now everyone can have a Youtube channel and show must be a great idea, just keep the challenges wetlooky. I might try that next summer
