Very good work JJ and Wetfan. Now...if only we could track down some info on that short film this comes from...cos none of the short film info "jives"...cos the only short films with that name or similar names were all made in the early 1930's...or..in the early to mid 1950's....yet those pics come from Dec 1946 Life Magazine...and there is no known short film of the 1940's that can be found with that title. I have searched all the databases I can find...so...this one remains an enigma.
With regards to the long lost Sophia Loren tv special where she dances into the pool...

...I have found where there is a copy of it...and it is where I thought it was...at UCLA Film & TV Library they have a full copy of that show...but they list their copy as "faded and in poor condition"...and they will not let anybody screen a copy of it cos the tape is in such bad shape...so this needs some major restoration work done it. There is some hope that somebody might restore it though...cos it does also star Peter Sellers and people always want to restore rare stuff with Peter Sellers in it (e.g. I waited 35 years for the BBC to release the 1967 Dr Jonathan Miller tv version of Alice in Wonderland...and they have only just released that on video and dvd this year......and Peter Sellers was in that too).

ps...I am hoping that one day ITV in the UK will release the 1967 tv series "Do Not Adjust Your Set"....which was the forerunner to Monty Python and had Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and David Jason in some really wacky sketches. I was a schoolboy at the time...but one memorable sketch from that show called "Handel's Water Music"...where the joke was...the entire orchestra were performing in showers and water filled bath tubs in formal wear. Some nice ladies in bath tubs in this scene.
But I digress.....back to Ginny Simms....dig those seamed stockings she was wearing. These days tv or movie wet scenes are always done with half measures (i.e. actresses wearing wet suits or biker shorts underneath dresses)...but in the good old days like those pics..wetlook was done properly...with all the trimmings.

By JJ - vintagewet@grayhost.net Mon 01/12/03 14:54:31 GMT Website: http://vintagewet.grayhost.net/ It took me a while to find the magazine clippings, but in doing so, I found not only the newsprint clips of the set, but also two actual photos of the "after exiting the pool" look - both front and back views!
Only those who are interested should click on the links.
The clippings are:

And the real photos are:

Thanks go to Wetfan for collecting them for us. JJ
