By JJ - vintagewet@yahoo.ca Mon 28/10/02 14:38:54 GMT Website: http://vintagewet2.tripod.com/ Thanks Bill, for bringing that to our attention. Thanks to Wetfan, I have that complete issue with the article on the top three winners. You are correct, Craig was to win a Poloroid Land camera; quite a prize for the 1950's! I'll get it scanned and posted to the Scrapbook gallery when I get a round tuit.
As a side-note, the first and third prizes were both taken by Canadian photographers.

By BillH - billhey@aol.com Mon 28/10/02 08:29:34 GMT Night and Day Magazine held the "Miss Drenched" contest in 1957. There were many entrants, including photos that I submitted of my wife. Although we did not win a prize, the editors thought enough of my photos to include one of them almost full page in their Annual Issue. This led to a lot of fan mail, and I began corresponding with many wetlook enthusiasts, among them Craig Leedom, who did win a prize. Craig was supposed to receive a camera, but I heard that the magazine never came through. So much for the magazine's integrity. Craigs's winning photo of his wife sitting on a stepstool in the shower, can be seen at the "Vintage Wetlook" website. |
