Steve, if you're ok with bmp's now, then fine.

I use Paint Shop Pro too, and it can convert bmp to jpg (which is a compressed format) in seconds, amd there's no noticeable loss in pic quality.

If you still have probs then mail me, and we'll sort it out.

Regards

Darret.

Just a note for those who edit photos - it's best to save your work and edit using the bitmap format. The JPG format compresses the data & when you open and save multiple times, the already compressed data gets the compression treatment again. Note I mention this because I have seen way too many pictures obviously degraded by being compressed a number of times.

As mentioned above, almost any graphics program will do a "Save As" so you can convert from the most common formats. I started with some $10 programs on Best Buy's low price shelves before moving to Photoshop Elements. The software on the 'savings' shelves is usually the old version where they pack the CD (program only - usually the other CD's do not get packaged) in its own jewel case, and leave out the documentation. This software is usually all most folks need. I just got hooked on Photoshop Elements because it was bundled with the computer. I have found nothing in the more expensive programs to justify purchasing them.

I think somebody mentioned "Thumbs", that is a great free thumbnail and more program!! If you are squeezed for space, it does not take much HD room at all.

I load mine up in Paint Shop Pro then resave them in jpg. Just click on the "save as" and change the file to jpg. Hope this helps. If not let me know.
