Last week I discovered a place to swim fully clothed right here in Bakersfield California. Riverwalk Park has a man-made lake where swimming is allowed. It has been there several years, but I just discovered it. On the day I went there were a few women swimming in shorts and shirts. The highlight was a family of grandparents and 2 grandchildren. Grandma, wearing a dress, and her grandson were in the water. Grandpa and their teenage granddaughter (wearing jeans and a t-shirt) were watching from land. Grandma and the girl's brother were urging her to come in the water. At first she resisted, saying that she didn't want to get her good jeans wet. Eventually she did get in the water and was happily swimming around without a care in the world. Then they convinced grandpa to get in as well (wearing khaki pants and a t-shirt). Or course I was watching all this from in the water (wearing shorts and a polo shirt and shoes).
