Searching "Cyrillic" does not even find this page at all, even though it's in the page title! I found the topic I recognised that I'd replied to, backtracked to the archive page, found the topic, and then the post.
Of course, since the person in question can't write in English, I'd need to explain the solution to them *in Russian* (and somehow get Cyrillic into the Subject box, which I assume isn't possible).
After a number of years of bodging around the bush, the pieces finally fell into place a year or so back to allow me to convert our in-house customer database to 100% Unicode: page display, form input, database, system logging, e-mail generation, PDF generation -- everything is now running entirely in UTF-8 end-to-end. (With possible exceptions of XLS(X) generation -- I don't know if I've ever had any cause to test that :) |

How did you do that? Since the subject of using Russian letters on the Forum comes up quite regularly, maybe you could put up an explanation of how to show them, putting keywords in the 'subject' so that future Cyrillic users can easily find your explanation using the Forum search box.
By the way (OT), I saw a couple of your new Class 700s for the first time on my way into Kings Cross a couple of days ago. I have no idea whether they will offend your ears, but it would certainly offend my eyes to regularly have to look at one of these approaching me! Oddly, the front end of Scotrail's 380s (also Siemens, of course, and pretty obviously from the same design team) look much better despite having the gangway connection. |

This is just a string of numbers - probably Russian letters, which the Forum software cannot deal with. I suggest the poster uses Google translate then reposts in English. |
