It looks like the picture sizes are being constrained by the HTML coding, not by resizing with a graphics program. A thumbnail program will make short work of creating thumbnails for linking to the full-size picture. They can create several thumbnails at a click (a time saver!!).

This page will take dial-up viewers several minutes to load as it stands. I did the same thing several years ago when first starting out Webmastering!

I am anxious to see what you have in mind with "wacky wetlook"!!!!

Here's some helpful advice before you go too far ...

You need to research how to resize photos in a graphics program, before adding them to your site. Each of the 4 photos on your page is around 1.5Mb in size. The average web user is not going to manage to load your home page (at 6Mb) when the recommendation is to keep the home page under 100Kb. Also, if you're on limited bandwidth, your site will blow your limits and close in a few hours.
